Sub: Complaint against Mr. and Ms. Arya for employing a girl child labour for domestic work

Dear Sirs,
I have come to know from very reliable sources that Mr. & Ms. Arya, resident of 118/C, Sunder Apartments, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi-110087 have employed an 11years old girl child through some placement agency against payment of Rs.8, 000/- to work as domestic servant.

The said girl child has been kept as a bonded labour. The placement agency has brought the girl child from the State of Jharkhand. Mr. Arya is stated to be working as Yoga Teacher in Delhi Government School. The neighbours have quite often noticed that Mr. Arya using the girl child for massage on his body. She is also not being provided with the proper food. Whenever, the family members go out, electricity is switched off and the girl child is left all alone in the home. The girl child is with Mr. and Mr. Arya for the last two months. The girl child is maltreated in the Arya’s family.

It may be noted that employing a child below 14 years by a government employee is a major misconduct under conditions of service attracts dismissal from service. Mr. & Ms. Arya have committed offences under Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976 and J J Act, 2000.

Kindly take appropriate legal action against Mr. & Mr. Arya and the owner of the placement agency under the law and also rescue and rehabilitate the girl child immediately.

It is needless to say the today is the 60th year of coming into force of the Constitution of India which guarantees every child right to education (Art. 21 & 21-A), right to equality (Art.14) and right against exploitation (Art. 38) but unfortunately, these fundamental rights have remained not more a dream for the millions of unfortunate children of this country.
